East Lyme High School girls’ basketball lost an intense game 59-50 to Norwich Free Academy. After three close quarters NFA pulled away.
East Lyme was led by Michelle Lagrotteria, with 16 points, and Allison Stoddard with 10. Both played exceptional defense and had great hustle. Together they forced or committed multiple steals, including one in the third quarter where they both chased down the same player.

The Lady Vikes were able to pull off a 53-46 victory over Bacon Academy from good play in a strong second half.
After a first quarter full of sloppy passing, poor movement on offense and many fouls (seven with 5:29 left in the half), the Vikes picked up their play, forcing two turnovers in a row.
Their offense started to move a bit more, and they were helped with baskets down low from Rebecca McGlone, who ended the game with 10 points. However, they were still shut down by Bacon and seemed to be floundering on offense; the half ended with a tie at 24.

Picked apart by 6’9” big man Nolan Long, East Lyme fell into a 26-13 hole at the end of the first quarter.
